Architect:

Richard Meier & Partners

Completion:

2002

Description:

These two ultra-high-end, full-floor residential towers in Greenwich Village were followed up by another tower following up on their popularity. That third tower departs from these first two in the exterior wall articulation, learning from their mistakes.

These twin-ish towers feature full-height vision glass exterior walls with frosted glass guardrails at terraces (the third tower has vision glass guardrails to allow for visibility of the river and New Jersey). An aluminum frame fronting the West Side Highway articulates the west facade of these towers, a frivolty ditched in the later one.
