Description:

The headquarters for branding firm Lipson Alport Glass Associates, local firm Valerio Dewalt Train added a cantilevered brick and glass bar to a nondescript one-story courtyard structure. The new bar sits at an angle parallel to Skokie Boulevard, a stand-out gesture in the otherwise banal suburban surroundings.

Parking under the cantilever, one can get a glimpse inside, revealing a bright yellow lobby interior. Given that the addition closes off the courtyard, a contained outdoor space is created for the employees.
